(#190 & #191)

In the villages of Yapalguda and Kothapalli, in the state of Telangana, India, water purification systems and the protective infrastructure that houses them were installed.
These installations, with a total cost of $33,600.00, will provide safe drinking water to over 2,995 beneficiaries.

The Request:

To: Fondation Coup de Cœur

Dear Mr. Gagnon and Fatima,

It is with great joy that I share with you the Project Completion Report (2 of 5) for the two initiatives generously supported by Marcel and Luce Baril.
Thanks to their valuable contribution, these two projects, with a total cost of xxxxx, will now provide safe, purified, and affordable drinking water to over 2,995 beneficiaries in the villages of Yapalguda and Kothapalli.
Access to safe drinking water remains a major challenge in India. In villages like Yapalguda and Kothapalli, naturally high levels of fluoride in the groundwater have posed serious health risks for generations. These purification systems have brought immense relief to the communities.
Village Selection Process:
Villages are selected based on specific and rigorous criteria. These include fluoride levels in the water exceeding 2 ppm, the village council's (Gram Panchayat) willingness to provide a water source, and the allocation of land for the installation of purification units.
Additionally, each beneficiary village contributes 20% of the machine cost, fostering a strong sense of collective ownership and responsibility.
Once a village is selected, an orientation meeting is held to raise awareness and encourage active community participation in the planning, implementation, and long-term management of the water purification system.
Water Management Committees:
To ensure long-term sustainability and transparent governance, each village establishes a Water Committee, elected by the community and trained by our local team.
These committees are responsible for community outreach, mobilizing local resources, enrolling over 90% of households, organizing regular review meetings, and managing the daily operations and maintenance of the system.
The installed purification systems have brought great relief to these communities.
Thanks to your partnership, the communities of Yapalguda and Kothapalli can now enjoy the life-changing benefits of clean and safe drinking water.

SOPAR–Bala Vikasa, in partnership with Jana Vikasa and the Fondation Coup de Cœur, proudly and gratefully celebrates the success of these 2024–2025 projects.
The villagers send their heartfelt thanks to FCC, Marcel, and Luce for this precious gift of water, which has now become a cornerstone of better health and overall well-being.

With sincere gratitude,
Shobha
