The request:

Dear Mr. Gagnon and all the members of the Fondation Coup de Coeur,
I trust this message will find you in good health.
Today, I am pleased to share with you the two projects as mentioned below are now completed successfully in the poorest rural villages in the south of India.
Thanks to your support, more than 3,560 beneficiaries will now have, for the first time in their life, access to affordable purified drinking water in their own village. Your gift of water will literally transform their life, especially for women and girls who will be liberated from great burden of fetching water. Families will be able to enjoy the multiple health and hygiene benefits that access to clean water will bring them, especially became even more important in this pandemic times.
Our Big thanks to the generous donors Marcel and Luce and the Fondation Coup de Cœur.
Pratap Kandula, our Program officer at Bala Vikasa, India, shared a few lines with us:
“First of all we thank the donors for their generous help. Because of the foreign contributions, villagers are motivated and contributed locally towards room construction and water supply. Thipparam and Venkatadripeta villages were in great need for a purified water. Excess fluoride is considered a public health issue. Example: Villagers of Thipparam in Siddipet District used to travel 4 kms to get purified water as their village water consists of high levels of fluoride (2.4ppm). Despite high cost, more than 85% of the families were depending on the commercial water plant, while remaining families continued to consume contaminated water. After long suffering, seeing other villages with water plants, they took a step to change their lives. They applied for water project. At the beginning villagers did not participate actively and we almost cancelled their project, but soon they realized its importance and the committee took responsibility and encouraged villagers to participate. Through trainings, water committees took an active role in the project execution. Villagers are so happy and gained hope for brighter future.”.
On behalf of the recipient villages and entire SOPAR-Bala Vikasa team, I thank you for your generosity. Your act of solidarity demonstrates the trust and support that you place in SOPAR-Bala Vikasa. They motivate our efforts to be the change we want to see in the world and inspire program beneficiaries to participate actively in the changes they wish to see in their own life.

We join our thanks and sincere appreciation of your generosity and altruism to our best wishes filled with joy and peace and a happy New Year 2022!

Sincerely,
Shobha Singareddy
