The request:

Hello Mr. Gagnon and Mrs. Lahmami,

I hope this letter finds you well despite the situation we are currently experiencing. I hope you are healthy and safe.
The COVID-19 pandemic, as you can imagine, is having a big impact on the people we work with in poor villages in India. These villagers who already lived in Daily survival mode have to contend with a new element, that of fear of catching the virus, of being sick and of not having enough money to pay for necessary care.
This is the reason why I am coming to you today. Given our long-standing partnership and knowing your commitment to helping those most in need, I would like to ask for your support once again for water access projects. These projects will help poor villagers cope with the threat of  COVID-19 by allowing them to wash their hands frequently, drink water that does not make them vulnerable to the virus and allow them to continue working to support their families. We have identified three villages that are in dire need of your support.
Our team on the ground heard from Komala, a villager from one of these villages, who clearly demonstrates the importance of these projects:
“My husband passed away over 10 years ago. I have to take care of my two daughters on my own. It’s hard to find enough money each day to feed them properly. With this virus, I fear that I will be sick and not be able to work. If so, my daughter would have to drop out of school to help me. We are told that you need to wash your hands regularly to protect against the virus, but what can we do when the nearest well is miles away and we have just enough water to drink?''

Thank you in advance for considering our request for support.
