The request:

Dear Mr. Gagnon and Ms. Lahmami,

Bala Vikasa, our sister organization in India, told us that three villages in the region where we operate have  significant problems in relation to their access to safe water. I am writing to you today hoping that you will find a generous donor who can help them.
Villagers in Kothur were already walking a long way to access a well that belongs to a farmer from another village. This farmer recently defended the people of the village in a definitive way, to use his well, which means that they have to walk further to get their water. Women and children spend a good part of their day walking to bring a small amount of water home. A well construction project in this village would positively change the lives of these people.
In the other villages of Kemraj Kallalia and R.Itikyala, people suffer from serious health problems because the water they drink contains 2.5 times more fluoride than the maximum amounts accepted. The attached photos show examples of skeletal fluorosis, a condition resulting from an excessive accumulation of fluoride in the bones. The installation of a water purification system in each one of these two villages would have a significant impact on the health of the villagers.
If these projects move forward, we will, as usual, ensure the active participation of villagers to ensure the smooth operation and sustainability of these projects.

We sincerely hope that you can respond positively to our request.

Thank you very much for your precious and usual collaboration.

Best regards
