The request:

Dear Jean and Fatima,

In 2017, my school, Collège de Lévis, through its SOPAR committee and the CHILDREN CHANGING THE WORLD program, is committed to raising donations for SOPAR. Funds raised will fund the drilling of three drinking water wells in rural communities in southern India that do not have access.
We are asking for the help of Fondation Coup de Cœur  for the financing of one of these wells, that of the village of Garmillapalli, which will be the first to benefit from it. Garmillapalli is a village with about 150 inhabitants who will now have easy and direct access to drinking water.
The lack of drinking water is a major issue affecting the quality of life of nearly 334 million Indians. It is essential that these Indians have faster access to water, which would allow them better hygiene, better health and much more time for their education or for their families.
Our SOPAR Committee at the College consists of 12 students who are in charge of finding the necessary funds for the project and who will also make a trip to India in January 2019 to meet the beneficiaries of the wells and visit their villages. We are headed by the head of the Pastoral College and cycle director.
Our partner SOPAR Bala Vikasa is an NPO that is a model of governance and transparency in India and abroad thanks to the tangible results it achieves by supporting whole communities to improve their living conditions. The Collège is inspired by the Rochebelle School, which has already completed many well projects and can testify with full knowledge of the great professionalism of this organization.
In addition to drilling wells, the organization SOPAR Bala Vikasa, which has been working for 40 years in India and supports more than 6,000 Indian villages ensures the participation of beneficiaries in the project. By involving them, SOPAR promotes union in the villages as well as the autonomy of the beneficiaries once the project is completed.
Once in operation, the well will operate for approximately 25 years, and it will not only provide water to the inhabitants of Regadagudur: they will be better informed about the importance of hygiene, drinking water as well as several other issues, they will also have a much stronger sense of unity and community.

Thanks in advance for the support of Fondation Coup de Cœur !
