Dear Jean and Fatima,

I hope you are well.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued collaboration in multiple international projects in our 7040 District.

Today, I am presenting a new project in collaboration with the Meenambakkam Rotary Club in India, for which we are preparing to apply for a Global Grant to the Rotary Foundation. Here are some explanations about this project:
Every year, around 200,000 babies are born in India with a congenital heart defect (congenital heart disease). Of these some 200,000 cases, 120 000 children will need some kind of intervention. Only 35,000 to 40,000 children are treated each year, therefore, the number of untreated babies is enormous.
In some of the major public hospitals, the waiting time for non-urgent cases is 2 to 3 years. At that time, children have little chance of survival.
If these children are treated at the right time, they can lead a normal life like ours and become productive citizens of the country.
For the most common cardiac surgeries, it costs between 125 000 and 15000 rupees. For children of parents whose salary is less than 1,000 rupees a month, the state government provides assistance through a health insurance scheme starting at 60,000 rupees and hospitals offer discounts and allowances, case-by-case waivers from Rs 20,000 per surgery. This project will cover the shortfall between 40,000 and 50,000 rupees per surgery.

This project, with a total cost of $ 101,400, will enable more than one hundred children from disadvantaged backgrounds to survive cardillac failures annually.

We very much hope that you will support us financially in this humanitarian project so vital to many children.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Sincerely.
