The request:

From: Pierre Gervais, CASIRA
To:     Fondation Coup de Cœur

Hello Jean and Fatima,

Since 2015, the Coup de Cœur Foundation has joined CASIRA to help poor families in Cambodia. For example, her financial assistance of $ 3,800 resulted in the digging of six wells that now serve twelve families who had to travel a significant distance several times a day to get supplies from the nearest well and the 220 children who attend primary school from their village.
In 2018, CASIRA continue to help this community. As additional support for our actions in this village, we are seeking your financial assistance of $ 900 for the installation of a water filtration system in the village of Otasek.
Pertinence du projet:
To increase access to safe water for the 700 inhabitants of Otasek village, CASIRA would like to the install a water filtration system in the village of Otasek.
Transparency and good governance of the project:
The monk responsible for the village, Mony Tchang, will supervise the execution of the works and Sok Leap Ann, a Cambodian friend, will assume the supervision. The village chief supports this request and I will be there in March or April for the official opening.
Impact:
The installation of a water filtration system will improve the hygiene and sanitation conditions of some 700 inhabitants of the village of Otasek. It goes without saying that the installation of this filtation system will reduce diseases related to the inadequate consumption of water.
Of course, photos of the work in progress and official inaugurations will accompany the report.
Sustainability:
Access to safe drinking water in the village will be a valuable resource for all villagers who will benefit from it. Thus, the representatives of the village are committed to seeing to its safe use and its proper functioning. Since this area is not served by any NGO, Sok Leap Ann representing these villagers, will report to me on the use of the filtration system during my occasional visits to this village.
Subsequently, if there were breaks in the filtration system, CASIRA will bear the costs.
On behalf of the villagers who will benefit from this installation, from the Sok Leap Ann who represents them, from the village chief who supports the project, I thank you on behalf of CASIRA for your financial support of this project.
