Dear Fatima and Jean,

Following our conversation yesterday in Cornwall when you indicated that you would consider providing support for the medical equipment project at the Imara Healthcare Center in the Mukuru slum in Nairobi.
On this page there is also a link to this page: www.eganvillerotary.com/imara-project On this page there is also a link to A facebook page of the group for the project.
As I mentioned at yesterday's meeting, we are awaiting a decision on our district counterpart grant application to purchase the following equipment for the Imara Operating Room

Operating table
Anesthesia Machine
Suction machine
Patient Monitor

The equipment will be purchased in Nairobi at a cost of $ 24,000 CDN.
Peter Inoti of the Imara Center submitted the attached quote for his equipment needs. As you will see, their total demand was for equipment costing $ 35,000.00.
However, given the $ 10,000 limit for district matching grants, we informed them that we could not consider applying for support for the above items. However, if we are successful in raising funds and exceeding the target of $ 24,000 CDN, we would be in favor of purchasing other items on the equipment specifications. As they will do caesarean sections, we would also like to be able to buy a baby incubator, costing about $ 3,800 CDN.
So far, we expect to receive $ 700 CAD from our partner in Nairobi, the Rotary Club of Syokimau. The Rotary Club of Sowerby Bridge in the United Kingdom has committed £ 500 and has asked its district for a matching grant. We have also received $ 1,000 commitments from Rotary Arnprior and Petawawa and we hope to receive a similar amount from Rotary Pembroke. We also wrote to Rotary Renfrew, Shawville and Chesterville to see if they can contribute.
If you are able to contribute $ 500, that would be greatly appreciated. If this is not possible, any contribution would be welcome.
Finally, it is unfortunate that there was no audio for my video yesterday. However, you can watch the video on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOo-LLNEzZY&t=231s
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
