Dear Jean and Fatima,

First of all I would like to thank you for your generous contribution and help for our first water project inTerrabona, Peru.
Following the impressive success we achieved with our partnership, we are very excited to undertake a second project in Alianza also on the Amazon with you.
The fact that our next project will be financially supported by the Rotary Club of Castlgar under the direction of Bill Furey and District Rotary 5080 adds much to our enthusiasm.
I have attached Gina's cost proposal. Gina was trying to get a much more detailed cost outline for every detail of the project. I have convinced her to summarize the costs into the various parts of the project, knowing that detailed costs can change during the course of the project. Based on what I have seen on projects listed on the Coup de Coeur website, what we have listed here for a cost break-down is sufficient detail. Please let me know if more detail is needed, since Gina does have most of the information available.
Gina has indicated that she is confident that the entire project can be covered by these funds. In the case that not all is needed, any remaining funds could be kept for a next project or returned.
Pablo has indicated that the time-line may take less than 9 weeks which would mean that if he began immediately, (which he is prepared to do) it should be ready toward the end of April. I was hoping this would enable Andre to see the project when he visits.
The cost breakdown includes the roof & fence for the water tanks which adds approx. $3000 to the cost of the project. Gina continually stresses that a huge cost always comes down to transport of materials and personnel, as each trip requires boat transport to these remote communities.
I realize that the cost is higher than I originally anticipated based on information given to me by APECA. Gina has told me that the original cost estimate of $10000 US for a 2 tank system was a figure that was based on information that is now 8 years out of date and that this is the reason why the figure is closer to $15000. The addition of the roof + fence brings the cost to around the $18000 mark. I realize this will require more than we originally thought, especially since the $12000 Canadian you have mentioned we currently have, only comes to $8600 US.
I am willing to contribute more funds if you feel that this project is worthwhile.
What do you think?

David
