The project:

The distribution of 500 pairs of reading glasses

Abricots, 4th May 2015

Dear Fatima and Mr Gagnon,

I received with great pleasure a big package of glasses from Sister Marguerite and Pierre in your name. They knew without a doubt just how many pairs were essential to keep the foundation functioning properly.
Imagine a teacher or an embroiderer squinting in order to do their work, both trying to see clearly; the teachers aiming for continual progress and the embroiderers for a delicately and finely finished piece of work. Then there’s Larousse, the stock keeper who keeps record of all the materials and equipment that’s brought in in his notebook. He was so happy to be able to see clearly. A pair of glasses makes such a difference to productivity, really helping to get a job well done – isn’t that precious?
I would have loved for you both to have been there to help when we were giving out the glasses, trying to choose the most suitable pairs.
There were two of us distributing the glasses. I was happy to see that our teachers and embroiderers didn’t pay special attention to how the glasses looked or how elegant they were, but that they were trying to make sure they were the most suitable pair and that they could see clearly through the lenses. It took one, two, three attempts to find the best pair.
From the bottom of our hearts, I’d like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation. In the name of all those who have benefited from this present and of those in turn who will be able to choose a pair of glasses, the Paradis des Indiens Foundation would like to thank you.

Warmest wishes,
