In the three villages of Polampalli, Khajipar and Chilpur, installation of three water filtration systems and the buildings that house them. Also, in the village of Megya Thanda, drilling of a well and installing an India # 2 manual pump.
The project, with a total cost of $ 43,200.00 will bring clean water to more than 8,085 beneficiaries.

Hello Mr. Gagnon and Mrs. Lahmami,

As the agent responsible for the water access program in Bala Vikasa in India, I witness daily the little miracles that take place in the villages where we have installed water purification systems as well as wells topped with manual pumps.
Mr. and Mrs. Baril, the sponsors of these projects I have come to tell you about today, will be happy to learn all the good they have done in allowing the villagers of Polampalli, Khajipar, Chilpur and Megya Thanda to have access to daily purified water.
These are small villages where the vast majority of families depend on farming. To be able to work and earn a living, men and women must be in good health because their work is physically difficult and they spend long hours in the sun every day.
Many villagers tell us that they are often sick and the village doctor I spoke to confirmed that most of the illnesses were related to the use of water that contains more than twice the maximum amount of fluoride allowed. Knee and joint aches are common in these villagers and associated with a condition called bone fluorosis.

People in these villages cannot believe how fortunate they are to be chosen to benefit from these projects. On the day of the inauguration, people had nothing but good words to say about the kindness and the great generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Baril. They asked me to thank them on their behalf, which I am doing now.
The two boys you see in the photo were present at the opening. Imagine how their lives will be transformed now that they can drink purified water every day. Better health and hygiene, more chance of continuing their education, more chance of having a living wage when they are in the workforce.
A donation that turns into an investment for these communities who were just asking for a little help to become independent and improve their living conditions.
