Hello Fatima and Jean,

We want to thank you and Fondation Coup de Coeur  for what you have done for the children of Balisier and their school. Of the 164 students at Dinette Durin School, 77% of boys and 93% of girls passed their school year. This is a lot because we must take into account the situation where education had to be done. In fact, in early October, hurricane Matthews came to a standstill above the commune of Les Apricots and crushed nature and buildings that ended up as if they were inside a blender for more than twelve hours. The damage was considerable, the school lost its roof, its teaching equipment and a lot of its equipment. The teachers had to give their lessons under tarpaulins that took several weeks to arrive. Not only do they quickly break up in the sun, but these tarpaulins make a lot of noise when it rains or when it's windy. And in the evening, these teachers and students return to their homes that are also to be rebuilt! I add a picture of the village of Abricots taken this summer, ten months after the hurricane, which shows us how many families still live under the tarps in the village itself. Sheet metal is rare and is very expensive. So we must emphasize the courage of these teachers who willingly agreed to work in these conditions and the perseverance of their students. Following all these bad conditions, the generous donation of the Foundation Coup de Coeur becomes extremely important.
Note that during the summer, the various partners of the Indian Paradise Foundation have joined forces to allow the restoration and re-equipment of the Dinette Durin school in Balisier. The 2017-2018 school year is therefore more promising.

For all these children, for all these parents and for all these teachers: thanks again and again
