Dear Jean and Fatima,
Last July, my husband Wayne and I visited Peru to see the projects done by Water Mission. During our time in the Amazon, we visited the municipality of Darwin Grandez. This village of approximately 2160 residents does not have acces to clean drinking water or proper sanitation facilities. After seeing the terrible situation in which these people lived, I thought making a project for them would be a great humanitarian gesture. To do so, I contacted the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs, the Rotary Club of Iquitos and Water Mission, and together we decided to implement a Living Water Treatment System (LWTS) that will provide a solar powered clean water system and power flush latrines all families. The project will include training for the Safe Water Committee of Darwin Grandez on maintaning the system. Water Missions and The Rotary Club of Iquitos will provide follow up in support of the Safe Water Committee. This structure and support process will ensure long-term sustainability of the LWTS, delivering clean water and sanitation to this village.
The project will have a total cost of USD $118,500.00 and we currently have a shortfall of $6,000.00. Understanding that this is a large amount, I'm requesting a donation of $ 4,000.00 to the Coup de Coeur Foundation in support of our project, covered by the Global Grant  #1636387. I will  personally fund the remaining $ 2,000.00 to fully fund this grant.
Considering that this project would have a tremendous impact by helping a great amount of people who desperately need it, we hope that you will help us realize it.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,

Sandra Hemstead
